PURPOSE: To find plural products with low space factor. CONSTITUTION: Plural partial products are found for respective combinations of parts of the number of digits of a 1st number and the number of digits of a 2nd number. An accumulated value is generated in a specific register cell by accumulating partial products selected out of the respective partial products according to relation Pm ,n -'accumulation'rA; x=(m+n)-1 by using a register having register cells with hierarchical weight. Here, 'Pm ,n ' represents the respective partial products, 'm' the weight (m=1, 2,...) of the 1st number, 'n' the weight (n=1, 2,...)of the 2nd number, and 'rA' a specified register cell with weight 'x'. The specific number of digits of the accumulated value stored in a low-order register cell is shifted to a next higher-order register and added to an accumulated value stored in the next high-order register cell as a low- order digit. Hose processes are repeated until plural numbers are all processed. |
