<p>PURPOSE:To provide the optical touch panel which can be decreased greatly in the number of components and reduced in manufacture cost and its driving method. CONSTITUTION:Along two adjacent sides 1a and 1b of a rectangular display screen 1, plural light emitting elements 2 which emit light in parallel to the display screen 1 and at right angles to the arrayed sides 1a and 1b are arrayed. Along the two remaining sides 1c and 1d of the display screen 1, optical guide members 4 and 4' which receive the light emitted by the facing light emitting elements 2 and guides the received light to the corner parts of the display screen 1 are provided. Light receiving elements 3 and 3' which receives the light guided by the optical guide members 4 and 4' and outputs electric signals corresponding to the received light are provided at the corner parts of the display screen 1. The light emitting elements 2 are scanned and made to illuminate individually at specific timing, and the outputs of the light receiving elements 3 are detected in synchronism with the timing.</p> |
