PURPOSE:To overlap the optimal route with a road map to facilitate the discrimination thereof by providing a storing means, a route computing means and a displaying means, and displaying the optimal route at a higher luminance. CONSTITUTION:A route guide processing unit 71 reads out a route computing program from a route computing disc, and loads it in a SRAM inside of the processing unit 71. An optimal route computing processing unit 72 computes the optimal route from the present position to a destination on the basis of the route computing link data. The processing unit 71 makes reference to a link coordinate transformation table housed in a RAM 74 about optimal route links A, B, C obtained by the processing unit 72, and obtains the display coordinate line of plural nodes passing each link, and stores it in a memory. A display control unit 76 displays the optimal route L with a trimming at D+alpha of high luminance on the basis of the coordination lines (i)-(q). Discrimination of the optimal route is thereby facilitated by displaying the optimal route at a luminance higher than that of other roads. |
