Antiscale device (1) for protection by thermostat (41) of an electrical kettle or a similar apparatus. According to a first embodiment of the invention a protective component made of material with shape memory which is in the shape of a spring (5) is arranged around the heating element (2). The latter removes the scale by a scraping action. In fact, when it heats up it becomes longer (5') and contracts (5) after returning to ambient temperature. According to a second embodiment the device includes an element with a bimetallic effect, also surrounding the heating element. When a determined temperature is reached a part of this element moves away from the wall of the heating element and makes the scale layer burst. <IMAGE>
