摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To improve an opening rate by installing light shielding films in common use as storage capacitance electrodes covering the peripheral parts of pixel electrodes facing the respective storage capacitance electrodes. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device is constituted by superposing a TFT substrate 100 having thin film transistors 3, the pixel electrodes 4 and the storage capacitance electrodes 9 and a counter electrode substrate 400 having the light shielding films 14 and a common electrode 15 on each other. The light shielding films 9a in common use as the storage capacitance electrodes covering the peripheral parts of the pixel electrodes 4 facing the storage capacitance electrodes 9 are installed to this liquid crystal display device. Then, the margins of the light shielding films 9a in common use as the storage capacitance electrodes are merely required to allow for the mis-registration components in a photolithography stage and are, therefore, required to be smaller than the margins of the light shielding films 14 of a counter electrode substrate 400 with which the misalignment in superposition of both substrates 100, 400 needs be taken into consideration. Then, the large opening rate can be taken in comparison with the case where light is shielded only by the shielding films 14.</p>
