PURPOSE:To provide the color filters having excellent smoothness at a low cost by interposing a colored layer (blue) having high light absorbance between colored layers (red and green) having low light absorbance, thereby providing the color filters with light shieldability. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive resin 1R dispersed with red pigments is applied on a glass substrate 11. This photosensitive resin layer 1R is exposed by using a mask 15 for red capable of irradiating only the prescribed regions 2R formed with the red color filters. The resin layer is thereafter developed, by which the red color filters 11R are formed in the regions 2R. The green color filters 11G are formed when a photosensitive resin dispersed with green pigments is similarly applied on the substrate and is exposed and developed. Further, the blue color filters 11B are formed in the ensuing stage. A light shielding layer 12 consisting of the same material as the material of the blue color filters 11B and the same color filters 11B is formed if the photosensitive resin 1B dispersed with the blue pigments is applied over the entire surface of the glass substrate 11 already formed with the red and green color filters 11R, 11G, is irradiated with light from the rear surface side of the substrate and is developed after exposing. |
