A chain link (1) for an energy-carrying chain. The chain link (1) has two link plates (2) which can be connected to one another by top and bottom transverse webs (3) and are designed for articulated connection to link plates of adjacent chain links. The transverse webs (3) and the link plates (1) enclose an inner space (4) for accommodating cables. Separating webs (5) running perpendicularly to the transverse webs (3) and intermediate webs (6) arranged perpendicular to these separating webs and parallel to the transverse webs (3) are provided for dividing the inner space (4). In this chain link (1), the separating webs (5) are provided with apertures for accommodating the intermediate webs (6), and locking means complementary to one another are provided at the apertures and at the intermediate webs (6) so that the intermediate webs (6) can be inserted with their ends into the apertures in a locking manner. The separating webs can thereby be made relatively thin so that they take up little space in the interior of the chain link. <IMAGE>
