摘要 The invention concerns a method and device to operate a defibrillator efficiently. The defibrillator is in the form of a semi-automatic device which has a neural network which is operated in the forward path. The network parameters are stored on an exchangeable memory card, and the memory card is used for temporary communication with an external personal computer. The memory card also contains the electrocardiograms which are recorded during use of the defibrillator, and which are transmitted to the personal computer together with the network parameters. Automatically or manually evaluated electrocardiograms are taken into a development database of the personal computer, and these electrocardiograms are used in the personal computer to execute a learning process, i.e. operation of a neural network in the backward path. The learning process results in new network parameters, which are tested for efficiency using a defibrillator simulation program and data from a reference or standard database which is internal to the personal computer. If the result of the efficiency test is positive, the new, updated and thus optimised network parameters are written back to the memory card and transmitted to the defibrillator, so that the next time it is used the neural network in the defibrillator works with optimised network parameters.
