The connection between a projecting bolt (52, 54) and a supporting member (48, 50), which connection serves to absorb forces introduced essentially transversely to the axis of the bolt, is so designed that the bolt (52, 54) contains a shoulder (60, 62), the surface of which facing the supporting member (48, 50) is pressed by means of a screw connection against a surface (68, 70) of the supporting member (48, 50), the screw connection having a screw (72, 74) running centrally in the bolt (52, 54) and interacting with the supporting member (48, 50). Connections of this type can be utilised for the self-aligning bearing of a vehicle axle, especially the front axle bearing of an agricultural or commercial vehicle, with at least one swivellable bolt connection (44, 46) arranged between an axle carrier (48, 50) of the vehicle and the vehicle axle (40).
