The adaptor enables an ordinary computer pointing device (mouse) to be operated with a stylus eg by free-hand artists or computer-aided designers who prefer to use a pen rather than to write with what feels like a bar of soap in their hand. The mouse drops easily and snugly into a cage 1 with a stylus rest 4 attached to the front of it and a parallel slide which is integral with the cage extends away from the user to a suitably mounted peg 2 fixed near the rear of the desk or surface where the mouse is to be operated. The mouse cage is easily installed, and does not prevent normal mouse operation. The mouse is simply placed in the cage when stylus control is required, and lifted out again to restore normal mouse functions. The functions of the mouse buttons may be replicated on the stylus or re-assigned to the keyboard. <IMAGE>
