This device is of the type consisting of a lever for locking the cover in the open position, hinged to the frame under the hinge between the cover and this frame and comprising a slot which is capable of interacting with a finger which is firmly attached to the cover and, hinged at its free end, a hook which is capable of interacting with the abovementioned finger. According to the invention, the pin (7) of the hinge between the lever (12) and the frame (2) is formed by the pin of the hinge between the frame and the body (6a) of a gas spring, whilst, on the one hand, the pin (9) of the hinge between the rod (6b) of this gas spring and the cover is extended, beyond the lug (10) of the cover to which it is fixed, in order to form the finger, interacting with the oblong slot (13) of the lever (12) and with the hook (14), and, on the other hand, the hook (14) is weighty and is hinged at the free end of the lever (12) so that, at the end of the opening movement and by virtue of the positioning ensured by its own weight, it is hooked under the finger, thereby forming a means for automatically locking the cover. <IMAGE> |
