摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a new protein useful for converting nitrile group of nitriles into amide group and producing the corresponding amide compound. CONSTITUTION:The protein is a water-soluble enzyme protein exhibiting nitrile- hydratase activity, having a molecular weight of about 120,000 (by gel- permeation) and composed of a subunit alpha having a molecular weight of 28,000 + or -500 and a subunit beta having a molecular weight of 29,000 + or -500 (the molecular weights of the subunits are determined by SDS-polyacrylamide get electrophoresis). It can be produced by a recombinant DNA technique.
