PURPOSE:To polish a ferrule end face in good workability by only displacing a position of ferrule as polished by turns according to progress of work, in a surface plate for polishing the optical fiber connector ferrule end face. CONSTITUTION:From the peripheral side of cylindrical surface plate face 2a toward the center of cylindrical surface plate face 1a integrally formed with each other and driven to be rotated, a bonding agent removing annular band I, polishing film periphery fixing annular band II, rough polishing annular band III and a finish polishing annular band TV are successively concentrically arranged to be divided. In one hand, a bonding agent removing ring grinding wheel 3 is set along the bonding agent removing annular band, to also concentrically multiring provide respective outside, intermediate and inside parallel divided annular protrusive parts 1b, 1c, 1d along respectively divided boundary of rough and finish polishing annular bands, and in the other hand, an elastic polishing film 6, covering a total region of the rough polishing annular band III and the finish polishing annular band IV and further extending over on a group of the parallel divided annular protrusive parts, is fixedly stopped by a polishing film periphery fixed ring member 4 over a peripheral part total length appearing in the polishing film peripheral fixed annular band. |
