PURPOSE:To reduce an iron loss value and to improve magnetic flux density by applying dry skin pass rolling at specific draft by using a work roll of specific roll diameter before decarburizing treatment after cold rolling. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled plate of a silicon-containing steel, containing, by weight, 0.02-0.1% C and 2.5-4.0% Si and also containing AlN-type or MnS-type inhibitor component, is cold-rolled once or cold-rolled twice while process- annealed between cold rolling stages to final sheet thickness. Subsequently, dry skin pass rolling is done at 0.5-10% by using a work roll of 100-400mm roll diameter. Then decarburizing annealing and finish annealing are done, by which the grain oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in magnetic properties can be obtained. It is desirable to regulate the surface roughness Ra of the work roll to be used for skin pass rolling to about 0.5-3mum. |
