PURPOSE: To provide an improved electrosurgery monitor and apparatus by including an oscillator having an input socket that connects with two input contacts and a detector immediately responding to the output of the oscillator for producing an alarm signal if the connection is out of order. CONSTITUTION: A monitor unit 6 includes a first oscillator 103 which receives a control input though the contacts P2 and EN in a socket, and provides an output only when they are both connected by low impedance. The contacts P2 and EN in the socket are connected to the opposite ends of a second primary winding 108 of a transformer 105 having a secondly winding 112 connected to a detector unit 113. The detector unit 113 responds to the signal below the first lower value VL in the secondly winding 112 by producing an alarm signal to indicate the disconnection of the return electrode assembly. |
