Applicable to the production of paper such as that used for banknotes, identity documents and payment or gambling (gaming) documents, for the process use is made of a two- form paper machine and an ink-jet printer, such that each printer prints letters, signs, symbols or any type of codes on the inner face of one of the two layers of the paper, at the time of its formation by the machine and before said layer of paper adheres to the other one, by means of rolling, in order to form a single sheet within which printing is located and which is thus protected between the two layers. The paper will, on each one of its two layers, have basic- weight (grammage), colour and opacity characteristics such that the printing carried out cannot be reproduced by means of a colour photocopier, scanner or similar graphic-reproduction means, and such that, on the other hand, said printing is fully visible and recognizable by means of transmitted light.
