PURPOSE:To provide a mixed filament web in which different kinds of filaments are opened almost to a monofilament state and mixed not only in the case of fibers capable of melt spinning under similar conditions but in the case of wet spun fibers or dry spun fibers and a method for industrially stably producing it without requirement of large scale equipment. CONSTITUTION:Many air guns 2 for jetting charged fiber bundles 1 together with streams of compressed air and side guns 3 for jetting only streams of compressed air at both the ends are arranged in a line. Two kinds of charged nontwisted fiber bundles are alternately supplied to every other air gun and a hood 4 having plane walls on all sides and designed so that the slit width may be narrower from the inlet to the outlet is set on the downstream thereof. The fiber bundles are jetted together with streams of compressed air from the air guns into the hood so as to be opened. The opened fibers are collected 6 on a moving collection conveyor 5, thus producing the objective mixed filament web in which two kinds of filaments bundles are opened and mixed. The mixing ratio of the two kinds of filaments exhibits a periodicity in the width direction and the degree of variation in the web weight in the width direction is <=20%. |
