<p>PURPOSE:To stop control by oil pressure so as to reduce the number of part items and to attain cost reduction in a front wheel active control device for an automobile provided with a four-wheel steering system. CONSTITUTION:Active control is performed not by oil pressure but by an electric motor 57. That is, a housing 3 for enclosing a rod 1 is supported slidably in the axial direction by a mounting bracket 11. The electric motor 57 is provided on the mounting bracket side so as to rotate a hypoid gear 45 through a pinion gear 51 and to slide the housing 3 in the right or left direction through a ball screw 41. The housing 3 is connected to a gear box, and the pinion gear 51 is meshed with a rack gear in the gear box, so that the rod 1 can also move in the right or left direction along with these gears.</p> |
