PURPOSE:To set a light emission diode in coincidence with a lens array in height and distance to form an optical image with a clear profile by a method wherein first and second placing surfaces of different levels are formed on a radiation body, the light emission diode is placed on the first placing surface through a substrate, and the lens array is placed on the second placing surface with the side face thereof abutted against the end face of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:First and second placing surfaces 2, 3 of different levels are formed in parallel to each other on a radiation body 1. A light emission diode 10 is placed on the first placing surface 2 through a substrate 4. A lens array 19 is placed on the second placing surface 3. The height of the light emission area of the light emission diode 10 is set in coincidence with the height of the center of the lens array 19. An end face 17 of the substrate 4 and a side face 21 of the lens array 19 are abutted to each other, whereby a distance between the light emission diode 10 and the lens array 19 can be set in coincidence with a predetermined length. In this manner, since the optical center of the lens array 19 focuses on the array of light emission areas, an optical image with a clear profile can be formed on a photosensitive drum 27. |
