A modifier for iron alloys, consisting of a mechanical mixture including 50-98% per weight of ferrosilicon, whereas the modifier includes per weight: 37-74% of silicon, 0.2-2% of aluminium, and calcium and rare earth elements, characterized in that it includes 2-50% of mixmetal, whereas the mixture includes per weight: 1-26% of cerium, 1-15% of lanthanum, 0.2-7% of neodymium, 0.2-3.5% of calcium, and iron or remaining lanthanides complementing up to 100%.
