Feed based on ecdysteroids which reduce the fertility of haematophagous parasites

The supply of ecdysteroids in organisms which are hosts for haematophagous arthropods makes it possible to control these parasites, the ecdysteroids being capable of passing into the host's blood. In a preferred form, the 22-position of the said ecdysteroids is occupied by a substituent other than -OH. The supply of these substances is achieved in the feed given to livestock by choosing ecdysteroid-rich plants.
