Electronic device used for monitoring people, pets or objects in public or private places. The invention relates to a device for monitoring a person or an object, minimising the risks of loss or of disappearance. It consists of a miniaturised transmitter and receiver, the shape of which may vary as may the material constituting the housings. The transmitter (2) is contained in a housing the shape of which is currently that of a watch (1) but can exhibit any other shape according to the use. This transmitter (2) consists of a miniaturised printed circuit (10), including the components and a reception module (4) so as to be able to communicate with the receiver in order to ensure the reliability of the link. This device, in terms of its transmitting part, consists of a housing (1) for the printed circuit (2), supporting the components and the communication reception module (4), as well as the antenna (11). A push button (13) allows the transmitter to be turned on and off, and a "button"-type battery provides its power. This device, in terms of its receiving part, consists of a housing (3), of a printed circuit supporting the components and the transmitting module for the communication (2), as well as the antenna (17). Power is supplied by two round, type AAA batteries (15). A switch allows the device to be turned on or off. Another switch makes it possible to increase the sensitivity of the receiver. The device according to the invention is more particularly intended for monitoring a person or an object in public or private places. <IMAGE>
