Method making it possible to refill many times B J cartridges which are deemed to be inoperative. Outside the machine, with the cartridge placed vent(1)-side up, the vent is opened with a needle by sliding the plastic plug upwards. By means of a syringe, 1.5 to 2 ml of 90%-pure ethyl alcohol are injected, and a puff of breath causes it to enter and form an ink drop at the outlet nozzles. The vent plug is replaced, the ink is wiped off (absorbent paper), the B J cartridge is replaced and printing is carried out. <IMAGE>
