PURPOSE:To provide a light source for an optical printer which can realize high-density and high-quality of printing by contriving the enhancement of density of a light-emitting part and the uniformity of optical output. CONSTITUTION:A surface-emitting diode 31 which has a double heterostructure comprising a light-emitting layer 36 made of a light emitting diode, electrodes 41, 44 for emitting light from the light-emitting layer 36, a GaAs buffer layer 34, an AlGaAs current diffusion layer 38, and GaAs cap layers 39, 40, and wherein optical output outputted vertically from a plane of lamination of the double heterostructure can be obtained, is provided. |
