PURPOSE:To provide a Roman character converting method capable of removing erroneous conversion by eliminating operator's switching operation. CONSTITUTION:When an inputted Roman character becomes a clause segmenting character (13) in a conversion mode state (105, 'HIRAGANA' (the cursive form of a Japanese syllabary) letters preceding the clause segmenting character is converted into a 'KANJI' (a Chinese character) (16). When Roman characters do not constitute 'HIRAGANA', the processing mode is changed to a non- conversion mode and a Roman character inputted after a clause segmenting character is outputted as it is (12a). When a Roman character inputted in the non-conversion mode state is a clause segmenting character (13), the processing mode is changed to a conversion mode (18). |
