PURPOSE:To provide a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image giving a clear image with high resolution and having satisfactory anti-offsetting property. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion stabilizer and one or more kinds of vinyl monomers are added to a hydrophilic org. solvent to prepare a uniform soln. A fine particle-shaped polymer insoluble in the soln. and having <1mum volume average particle diameter and a narrow particle size distribution is dispersed in the soln. and brought into a growth reaction or the vinyl monomers are polymerized in the absence of the polymer to form spherical resin particles having 1-10mum volume average particle diameter and insoluble in the hydrophilic org. solvent. The resin particles are then colored using an org. solvent and a colorant whose solubility in the resin particles is >=2 times the solubility in the org. solvent so that the colorant is sufficiently impregnated into the resin particles up to the interiors.
