PURPOSE:To improve the self-starting performance of a brushless DC motor by a method wherein the width of a pole tooth of the one side and the width of a pole tooth of the other side are in a predetermined relation and a pole tooth pitch from the pole tooth of the one side to the pole tooth of the other side and a pole tooth pitch from the pole tooth of the other side to the pole tooth of the one side are in a predetermined relation. CONSTITUTION:Among the pole teeth Xx and Yy, one pole tooth pair R is composed of the pole teeth Xx and Yy which are adjacent to each other. The width (a) of the pole tooth Xx and the width (b) of the pole tooth Yy are different from each other. Further, when successive pitched between the centers of the pole teeth Xx, Yy, Xx, Yy,... are denoted by (c), (d), (c), (d),..., the pitch (c) and the pitch (d) are different from each other. Further, among the pole teeth Xx and Yy, the width (a) of the pole tooth Xx which exists on the rotating direction of a permanent magnet rotor is larger than the width (b) of the other pole tooth Yy. Moreover, the center pitch (c) from the one pole tooth Xx to the other pole tooth Yy is smaller than the center pitch (d) from the other pole tooth Yy to the one pole tooth Xx. |
