<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the degree of freedom of designing a recording medium traveling system by recording data for showing relevancy between a slant track and a longitudinal track in a prescribed area of the slant track. CONSTITUTION:In a track pattern of the recorder, when an X-length standardized as a format is X, the X-length is assumed to be X+ or -E, and an X-length correcting value + or -E is recorded in a prescribed area of the slant track. That is, the tape traveling system is constituted in order to make a distance between a position of a fixed head and a position of its corresponding slant track X+ or -E. Then, the X-length correcting value + or -E is previously stored in the recorder. At the time of recording a signal on the slant track, data for discriminating a signal recorded in the longitudinal direction is recorded in this slant track by the recorder.</p> |
