PURPOSE:To provide a large sized display device with excellent display quality, high luminance and low power consumption by using a lens array so as to deflect an ultraviolet ray flux emitted respectively from plural ultraviolet ray radiation sources thereby stimulating a predetermined kind of a fluorescent substance only on a fluorescent screen. CONSTITUTION:An ultraviolet ray emitted from an from an ultraviolet ray radiation sources 51-53 is magnified by a projection lens 4 and collimated and made incident in a lens array 2 via reflecting mirrors 5, 6. Then ultraviolet ray is transmitted through the lens array 2 and deflected and the ultraviolet ray from the three ultraviolet ray radiation sources 51-53 is efficiently emitted to red, green and blue fluorescent body stripes arranged on a fluorescent screen 3 respectively. The fluorescent stripe is stimulated by the ultraviolet ray to emit a visual light of respective color. The visual light transmits through a screen base and emitted in front of the screen 3 in a diffusion way. Thus, conversion efficiency into the visual light is improved and the display device with high luminance, low power consumption and high display quality is provided. |
