The device (1) comprises a fixed support (2) equipped with a ball joint (25), an open cavity (30) formed in the handset (1) to accommodate the ball joint (25) and an elastic means (43, 44) for retaining the ball joint (25) removably. The elastic means (4) is, for example, a closed wire loop which is embedded in two intersecting slots (37, 38) of the cavity (30) so that two branches (43, 44) of the loop move away towards the periphery of the cavity when the handset is pushed onto the ball joint.
