Locking mechanism

A locking mechanism for the door of a safe or of a strongbox, the said locking mechanism being designed as a compact unit, is described. It is constructed on a baseplate, at a distance from which and parallel to which a carrier plate is arranged. Located displaceably between them are a central shaft designed as a large-area plate and, if appropriate, espagnolette shafts. The components arranged on the side of the carrier plate facing away from the door are bordered on four sides by glass panes which are oriented perpendicularly to the carrier plate and which serve as a device for detecting drilling attempts, in conjunction with an emergency-locking device.
