The invention relates to a compressor installation for compressing a gaseous medium, with a compressor which is driven by the useful side of a heat engine and is connected to the consuming points via a line, and two exhaust-gas turbochargers which are arranged in the suction line of the compressor and lie in series on the drive side in the exhaust-gas path of the heat engine. In order to be able to improve the overall efficiency of such an installation, it is proposed that the heat engine (40) and the compressor (50) be designed as separate machines and that the drive shaft of the heat engine (40) be connected to the drive shaft of the compressor (50) via a coupling, and that the total volumetric flow of the compressor side at the exhaust-gas turbochargers (21, 23) be fed to the compressor (50) via a line (70, 77, 78, 79). <IMAGE>
