A device for the transportation and setting of a perforated brick is to make it easier to set the perforated brick correctly on a smelt vessel, whilst at the same time ensuring simple and reliable transport. For this purpose, there is mounted on a supporting rod (1) a slide (3), on which spreading arms (5) are pivotable. In an assembly position, the spreading arms (5) can be pushed into the hole (O) of the perforated brick (L). As a result of a mutual displacement of the slide (3) and of the supporting rod (1), they spread in the hole (O), the slide (3) being blockable on the supporting rod (1). <IMAGE>
