An explosion-proof microswitch component has a switch housing (10) into which a switch (16) is inserted. In order to fix this switch before encapsulation (potting), a closure part (31) is provided which is latched to the switch housing and then fixes the switch via legs (21.1, 21.2). The switch is then encapsulated. In the case of a first embodiment, the closure part is designed as a base part with an opening through which a connecting cable runs in a relatively tightly seated manner. Said cable is positioned with relatively tight tolerances with respect to the switch housing. In the case of a second embodiment, the closure part is designed as a terminal holder (31) on which a terminal housing (30) is mounted with the aid of a captive bracket (35). As a result of this design it was for the first time possible to produce an explosion-proof microswitch component with a terminal box. <IMAGE>
