Capsule for a pressure sensor and method for encapsulating the pressure sensor

A capsule for the protection of a pressure sensor (12) from a corrosive pressure medium has a carrier (1) made of plastic and two protective diaphragms (8; 9) made of a corrosion-proof material. Two pressure moderating chambers (4; 5) which are filled with a pressure moderating medium are formed in the carrier (1), each of the pressure moderating chambers being sealed off with respect to the corrosive pressure medium by one of the two protective diaphragms (8; 9). The protective diaphragms (8; 9) are clamped firmly to the carrier with the aid of clamping rings (10; 11), the clamping rings (10; 11) for their part being secured to the carrier (1) by means of ultrasonic welds. A description is also given of a production method for the encapsulation of the pressure sensor (12). <IMAGE>
