KUZEVANOV LOCKING DEVICE FOR A BEVEL DIFFERENTIAL GEAR

A locking device for a conic differential gear comprises an insert (5) mounted on its own axis (4) which is also the axis of the planet pinions (3) of the said differential gear. The insert is situated between opposing bevel gear wheels (2) of the bevel differential gear; it has teeth (6) which engage with those of the bevel gear wheels (2), and when the latter are displaced relative to each other it executes reciprocal motion along the axis of the planet pinions (3). Resistance to the linear motion of the insert (5) is created in a number of ways and limits the relative angular velocity of the bevel gear wheels (2) as they rotate.
