A FIREPROOFING MATERIAL

The invention concerns a fireproofing material in a loose mixture, in particular in a sealed flexible bag. The mixture includes (a) at least one material which is heat-insulating and heat-resistant at 1100 .degree.C, (b) at least one swelling agent which is effective at elevated temperature and (c) at least one binder which is effective at elevated temperatures. The mixture is free of inorganic fibres and contains at least one flexibly resilient component.
