The invention relates to an anchorage element (10) for a covering metal sheet, which anchorage element contains a pair of locking members (44, 64) for the snap-in engagement into a longitudinally profiled side border region of the covering metal sheet, and also contains a fastening region for fastening the element on a support. In order to eliminate the requirement for a time-consuming further working moment for aligning such anchorage elements before mounting on the backing, the invention proposes, inter alia, that the fastening region (30) project to the side of the locking members (44, 64) and of said side border region. Consequently, the covering metal sheets can be used themselves as spacer elements and as a fixture for the anchorage elements, which are fastened on the backing at the same time as the covering metal sheets are laid out. <IMAGE>
