Arrangement in a washing machine for damping the vibration noise, the washing machine comprising a freely oscillating unit (13) which consists of the washing-water tank (10) and of the washing drum (11) and which is set up on a baseplate (14) by means of spring struts (17) which consist of a spring and of a vibration damper and which are fastened to the unit (13) or the baseplate (14) by means of fastening elements which comprise elastic intermediate bodies (24, 25), the elastic intermediate bodies (32, 33) arranged against the baseplate (14) being provided at least in part with special softness and, at the same time, internal damping, so that the vibrations having frequencies of below 1000 Hz are effectively prevented from being transmitted to the baseplate (14).
