In a warp-knitting machine with rackable bars (1), the ball joints (10, 13) at the ends of the tappets (2) connected between the bars (1) and patterning device (5) are lubricated. For this purpose, the tappet (2) has a cavity (30) which is connected via a flexible conduit (22) to the feed conduit (19) and, at each of the two ends, to the bearing surface of the ball joint (10, 13) via a lubricating duct (31, 32).
