Process for improving the quality, strength and storage life of brown coal briquettes

The technical problem of the invention is that, especially in the summer months, owing to high air temperatures and low moisture values, losses in quality with respect to strength and storage life and appearance of the briquettes had to be accepted. The problem is solved by establishing the water content of the dry brown coal used for pressing at 20% + 1.0%/-0.5%, contrary to the teaching accepted hitherto, and carrying out post-processing of the dry brown coal after the drying process via a secondary comminution so that a technical granulation of 0-2 mm results. The field of application of the solution according to the invention is the production of brown coal briquettes for industrial and domestic applications.
