In the case of a switch (1) for connecting electrical contacts (12, 13) by means of an associated contact element (21) which can be operated by a slide (3), the contact element (21) is formed by an attachment piece (22) which is fitted on the slide (3) and consists of an elastically deformable, electrically conductive material. This design results in it being reliably possible to compensate for any overtravel of the slide (3) without any difficulties, and in the contacts (12, 13) not being mechanically stressed by the contact element (21), so that the switch (1) is provided with a long service life. <IMAGE>
