<p>The present invention provides a purified antigen specific to the uncapacitated and capacitated sperm of autoimmune males and to the capacitated sperm of non-autoimmune males, the antigen having a molecular weight of approximately 18 kDa, approximately 32 kDa, approximately 40/42 kDa, approximately 50 kDa, approximately 60/62 kDa, approximately 78/80 kDa, approximately 88/92 kDa or approximately 180 kDa. Also provided is a purified approximately 22/24 kDa antigen specific to the capacitated sperm of autoimmune infertile males. Also provided is a method of diagnosing autoimmune infertility in a subject comprising the steps of contacting an antibody-containing sample from the subject with an antigen of the invention and detecting the reaction of the antigen with an antibody from the sample, the reaction indicating autoimmune infertility in the subject.</p> |
