The invention relates to an electrical junction box, especially for the installation bus (service bus). Said junction box has a housing in whose interior terminals can be accommodated. The upper opening can be closed by a cover. The interior of the junction box is divided by a partition wall into two chambers. One of these two chambers can be used to accommodate terminals for extra-low voltage, and the other to accommodate terminals for low voltage. The upper opening of the chamber for the low voltage can additionally be closed by an inner cover which can be connected to the junction box by means of a mounting which can be detached only by means of a tool. The upper opening of the chamber for the extra-low voltage can, in contrast, be closed only by regions of the outer cover. In order to reduce the number of individual parts, the partition wall between the chambers at the same time forms the inner cover, according to the invention. In this case, the partition wall is arranged parallel to and at a distance from the base of the junction box. In contrast to known embodiments, the chambers are arranged one behind the other, and no longer alongside one another, in the axial direction of the junction box.
