Electrical connector

An electrical connector arrangement has a base body which can be mounted on a printed circuit board (10) and is designed such that it can accommodate a complementary plug having contacts. The base body has a bottom (21) and a pair of mutually opposite side walls (23) which, between them, form a cavity (26) for accommodating the plug. The base body is fitted with a plurality of connector contacts (30) each of which is bent around such that it forms an inner limb (31) and an outer limb (32), which limbs both extend originating from the bend (33). The inner limb extends along the inside of the side wall inside the cavity in order to make contact with the plug contacts, while the outer limb, originating from the bend, extends downwards along the outside of the side wall in order to fix a connecting conductor (34) at its lower end. The connecting conductor extends essentially horizontally outwards, originating from the bottom of the base body, such that it is aligned on the printed circuit board with respect to a corresponding connection location of a conductor pattern, and can be soldered thereto. In the case of this structure, all the connecting conductors are visible, which simplifies visual examination for possible soldering defects.
