An actuating unit for a hydraulic braking system for motor vehicles may be secured on a wall of the car body and consists of a vacuum power brake as well as a main brake cylinder arrangement mounted downstream thereof. In order to reduce the overall axial length of the actuating unit, the pressure chambers (9, -) of the main brake cylinder arrangement (2) are in two tubular main cylinder housings (6, 7) movably guided within limits on transmission bolts (4, 5) which extend through both the housing (20) and the movable wall (11) of the power brake (1). The ends of the transmission bolts (4, 5) opposite to the wall of the car body form hydraulic connections (18, -) preferably in communication with the pressure chambers (9, -). |
