The invention relates to a counter-ceiling for buildings, designed to absorb sound waves and exhibiting perforated metal panels, provision being made for one or more suspended panels which are of a thin design such that they are capable of vibration and form a spring-mass system in the manner of a foil absorber with the cavities located thereabove, and the lowermost layer of metal exhibiting a multiplicity of uniformly or non-uniformly arranged holes with a diameter of 1-3 mm, the surface area of the holes being less than 4%.
