<p>A fuse (10) comprises an insulative housing (12) comprising a box with a lid (14) closing a bottom opening. Two terminals (16) project through slots (30) between the lid (14) and the housing (12), and are internally connected by a fusible element (18). A self-contained indicator (22) filled into holes (20) in the housing (12), gives visual evidence that the fuse has blown. An arc quenching fill containing a fill binder is inserted through a hole (42) in the lid (14). Pref. box and lid are made of thermoplastic material and welded together. This material is esp. highly crystalline nylon 4, 6; polyphthalimide, polyphenylene sulphide in LC polymer.</p> |
