An antitheft vehicle door lock

An antitheft apparatus for an automotive vehicle includes: door lock mechanism (110); constraining (stopper) members for constraining the door lock mechanisms; once actuated to a lock status so as not to be unlocked; a set switch (125) for outputting a constraint command for constraining the door lock mechanisms; and a controller responsive to the constraint command outputted by the set switch, for first locking the doors by the door lock mechanisms and then constraining the door lock mechanisms to the lock status by use of constraining members. When the command for constraining the door lock status is outputted, since the doors are first locked by the lock mechanism and thereafter the lock mechanisms are constrained to the lock status, even if the door is unlocked after the doors have been locked, it is possible to securely constrain all the doors to the lock status. An ignition device may be provided for connecting and disconnecting a current supply to the starter motor in response to the constraint command.
