PURPOSE: To obtain a polishing mechanism capable of being regulated in gap width with high accuracy and adapted to the production of a thermoplastic synthetic substance sheet by providing a device applying pull-back action to a stand and a support part and cooperating with a roll gap width adjusting device. CONSTITUTION: The pull-back action of a stand and the elimination of the bearing play gap between a main bearing 6 and an auxiliary bearing 7 are achieved by drafting an upper roll 3 and a lower roll 5 by a hydraulic cylinder 15. At this time, the prior condition of the pull-back action and the elimination is set so that drafting force is different each time in order to avoid the setting- off of drafting force. Further, roll drafting force can be regulated by the lever 9 operated by the hydraulic cylinder. A synthetic substance sheet 32 is polished in the gap between the rolls 4, 5 by this polishing calender. |
